FEDERAL INSTRUCTIONS

For the federal estimated tax payments:

 

  • Visit the official IRS website at www.irs.gov/payments.
  • Click on the “Make a Payment” option.
  • On the payment page, select “Estimated Tax” as the reason for payment.
  • Choose the appropriate form to apply the payment to by selecting “1040ES.”
  • Indicate the tax period for payment as the current year (e.g., “2023” for the upcoming tax year).
  • The following page will prompt you to verify your identity for accurate payment processing.
  • To confirm your information, you may select a previous tax year (e.g., “2022”) as a reference.

 

By following these general instructions, you can successfully make your federal estimated tax payments without the need for yearly updates. Remember, it’s always recommended to refer to the IRS website for the most up-to-date instructions and guidelines.

STATE INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Go to the MAT website (https://myalabamataxes.alabama.gov/_/#1) and create an account if you don’t already have one.
    2. Once you have logged in to your account, select “Individual Income Tax” from the list of tax types.
    3. Click on “Make a Payment” and select “Estimated Tax Payment” from the list of payment options.
    4. Enter the amount you wish to pay and select the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.
    5. Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, or electronic check) and enter the required information.
    6. Review the payment details and submit your payment.
    7. Alternatively, you can also make estimated tax payments by mail using Form 40-ES, which can be downloaded from the ADOR website. You would need to fill out the form and send it along with your payment to the address listed on the form.
    1. Alaska does not have a state income tax, so residents do not need to make estimated tax payments for state income tax purposes
    1. Go to the Arizona Department of Revenue’s website and select “Individual Income Tax.”
    2. Under “Individual Income Tax,” select “Pay.”
    3. Select “Make a Payment” under “Individual Income Tax.”
    4. Choose “Individual Income Tax Estimated Payment” as the payment type.
    5. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.
    6. Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, or electronic check) and enter the required information.
    7. Review the payment details and submit your payment.
    8. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments by mailing a check or money order to the Arizona Department of Revenue. To do so, download and complete Form 140ES, Arizona Individual Estimated Tax Payment, and mail it along with your payment to the address listed on the form.
  1. Go to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration’s website and select “Individuals.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Individual Estimated Tax Payments.”
  3. Enter your Social Security number and the tax year for which you are making the payment.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the quarter for which you are making the payment.
  5. Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, or electronic check) and enter the required information.
  6. Review the payment details and submit your payment.
  7. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments by mail. Download and complete Form AR1000ES, Individual Estimated Tax Payment Voucher, and mail it along with your payment to the address listed on the form.
  1. Go to the California Franchise Tax Board’s website and select “Pay.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Pay by Credit Card, Debit Card, or eCheck.”
  3. Choose “Estimated Tax for Individuals” as the payment type.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.
  5. Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, or electronic check) and enter the required information.

  7. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments by mail or online through your bank account. To pay by mail, download and complete Form 540-ES, Estimated Tax for Individuals, and mail it along with your payment to the address listed on the form. To pay online through your bank account, select “Pay” under “Individuals” on the California Franchise Tax Board’s website, and then choose “Pay by Bank Account (Web Pay).”
  1. Go to the Colorado Department of Revenue’s website and select “Individuals.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Make a Payment.”
  3. Choose “Individual Estimated Tax Payment” as the payment type.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.
  5. Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, or electronic check) and enter the required information.
  6. Review the payment details and submit your payment.
  7. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments by mail. Download and complete Form DR 0104EP, Colorado Individual Estimated Income Tax Payment Voucher, and mail it along with your payment to the address listed on the form.
  1. Go to the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services’ website and select “Make a Payment.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Estimated Income Tax Payment.”
  3. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.

  6. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments by mail. Download and complete Form CT-1040ES, Connecticut Estimated Income Tax Payment Coupon for Individuals, and mail it along with your payment to the address listed on the form.
  1. Go to the Delaware Division of Revenue’s website and select “Individuals.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Individual Tax Forms.”
  3. Download and print Form 200-ES, Delaware Estimated Income Tax Voucher for Individuals.
  4. Fill out the form with your personal information, the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment, and the amount you wish to pay.
  5. Write a check or obtain a money order payable to “Delaware Division of Revenue.”
  6. Mail the completed form and payment to the address listed on the form.
  7. Alternatively, you can make estimated tax payments online using the Division of Revenue’s ePay system. To do so, go to the Delaware Division of Revenue’s website, select “Individuals,” and then select “Pay Taxes Online.” Choose “Estimated Personal Income Tax” as the payment type and follow the prompts to make your payment.
  1. Florida does not have a state income tax, so residents do not need to make estimated tax payments for state income tax purposes.
  1. Go to the Georgia Department of Revenue’s website and select “Individuals.”
  2. Under “Individuals,” select “Individual Income Tax.”
  3. Select “Pay My Taxes” and then choose “Make a Payment.”
  4. Choose “Individual Estimated Tax” as the payment type.
  5. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the tax year and quarter for which you are making the payment.
